Moody rockstar meets town goody two shoes. Chemistry abounds as these two come together and get more than they bargained for in the process. Opposites attract and this story proves the theory.
We meet Kellan as he wholes up for the Holiday Season in a small, isolate cabin he is renovating. He just wants peace and quiet before he returns to his rockstar life. HIs band, Wilder Mind, is about to hit it big and he just wants to soak in the peace knowing it will be some time before he gets another break. So when Maggie runs her car off the road into a ditch of snow, he doesn’t want to do the right thing.
Maggie is the youngest of the Kelly girls and also known as the good girl of the group. Delivering freshly baked bread to an elderly woman is just the kind of thing she would do in a snow storm. Swerving to miss a deer, she ends up in the ditch of snow with no one but Kelllan around to witness her humiliation. Very little cell service and a towing company not answering, Maggie is stuck with a grumpy man in a tiny cabin.
Don’t want what’s between my pearly gates? Well, fuck you then! I’ll show you by dying in a snowbank before morning.
The two grump around each other a lot, but oddly find the other attractive and unwilling to admit it. Kellan is into hard rock, while Maggie loves the boy bands. Kellan wasn’t always the greatest stand up guy, while Maggie has been the good girl to everyone in town. Kellan dated Maggie’s sister once upon a time. Two extremely unlikely people and one tiny cabin make for a warm and lusty romping ground for these two lovers.
When Maggie’s father shows up the next morning along with Kellan’s sister, who runs the towing service, the two are pulled apart, but not before they have each other’s numbers. The story moves on from here as the two are drawn to each other. Oh, and Kellan didn’t actually lie about his career, he was an record label account representative before he formed his own band….she just doesn’t know he is in a band.
One-night stand girl, reporting for booty.
These two have a lot to overcome, mistakes to make up for and time to do it all. The heat between the sheets is the same over the top fun time these authors have come to give me with each book. These two work hard to stay apart, but also harder to stay together. While Maggie has sisters, she also has over protective brothers as well. Her best friend brings some hilarity to the story by being the best friend we all want. Throw in the bandmates for Wilder Minds and we get a full cast of characters that will keep you guessing.
Like the title says “Rockstar Daddy”, there is a pregnancy that both complicates things and leads to knowing the true character of people. I loved every minute of this story and how I disliked them both in the beginning only to grow to see them more for themselves and not how the family sees them.
This story falls into the rock world the authors have built around Oblivion, Hammered and Warning Sign with Lila Shawcross coordinating all the bands including now Wilder Mind. I am unsure if this is the start of a new series or just a one-off story, but now that I am a huge fan of this authoring duo, I will eat up any new books they can feed me!
