A second chance to find love in a town that was torn apart by fire. This story brought me back to the last book I read in the series and had me at times struggling to remember things, but when I did, I was all for these two getting it on! The girl leaves to get an education, leaving her siblings with her mother. A young kid with a motorcycle falls for her, but gives her up for a better life. It’s time to have a reunion
Randi was a young teenage girl in the last book I read with a mother addicted to drugs. When a wildfire comes through and destroys most of the town, Randi goes off to live with relatives and get a degree to make a better life. Her older siblings have moved on and when her younger siblings need help, she returns home to set them straight only to learn they are worse than she knew. Now she needs to find a job in town and figure out to handle the new responsibility.
Rome let Randi go years ago knowing she could make something better for herself, but now she’s back in town and he won’t stop until she’s his. He has to wade through all her baggage, but he’s not going anywhere.
Rome’s patience is truly a sight to see and he won’t let Randi run from what she feels. He’s a paramedic and when tragedy strikes, he’s there for the family. He’s in the MC, but he is also a good guy trying to make people’s lives better. But don’t mistake he won’t back down from a fight and his brothers are just as important as his family.
I loved the alpha way Rome was stand up guy, but also not afraid to get down and dirty. He lets Randi have just enough rope, but then he pulls her in and fulfills all her dreams. I loved these two and Rome was the best part of the story.
I am so ready to get back into the Reapers world with a full book. I know, we all want things. So I will continue to stalk Joanna (watch out for me at Readers on the River) and see what I can find out!
