Talen’s back and you’re going to be in trouble….ohhhh! Things are heating up between Talen and Cara and we get a front-row seat for this battle.
Talen and Cara are back! When we left Marked, the virus was cured and Cara was once more the mate of Talen, the biggest badass of the Realm. So what’s a woman supposed to do to keep from getting bored when her mate is Talen? Fight back about teaching outside of the Realm of course and he is not having any part of it.
The discussion is tabled for a vacation, but before they can make it to vacation, they need to drop some samples off at a lab along the way. Nothing ever goes as expected when it comes ot Talen and Cara.
It was wonderful getting to see Talen, but also to see Cara fully healed and back to herself before the virus. We only got to see this part of her for a short while in the series. The hardest part of reading this story was I felt both sides of their story and had a hard time finding harmony. Talen wants to protect his mate at all costs. He wasn’t able to do that for years and now he finds in his heart he needs to redeem that part of their lives. Cara for her part wants to be normal. She wants to share her knowledge and help humans. To feel a purpose. I wanted that for both of them, but I was at odds with myself on how they could have it all.
I loved seeing these two again and the passion hasn’t died in all the years they have been together. Does anyone else think they need another baby in their lives? Maybe just me needs another little Talen, Jr. running around.
