As usual, I have signed up for a plethora of reading challenges for the year and will, in all likelihood, engage in some short term challenges and read-a-thons.
At first glance, this may seem a crazy endeavor and impossible to achieve, but there is method here. All the challenges allow for books read to also count toward other challenges and most of these challenges have some overlap so invariably I will have books counting for several challenges at once.
I have a variety of reasons for choosing each challenge from the obvious- it’s fun- to a balance of wishing to clear out more from my TBR pile to trying new to me authors and books.
This is the official ‘sign up’ post where I declare my goals for each challenge. Because there are so many, I’m not going to say much about the individual challenges, but I will leave a link so you can investigate further if you’d like.
And, here they are…

These are a lot of challenges! But I can see where the overlap is. Some of my goals are to read more diversely (while reading more fantasy because I love it!) and to post more book discussion posts. I could really use the e-reader challenge. I have so many ARCs from days gone by to clear out. Most of them are from my college days when I started taking on heavier coursework and couldn’t keep the same reading pace as I used to.
Yes, the COYER is great to help with books on the virtual shelves and older ARCS and so is Anna @ Herding Cats’ Blogger Shame. It took me three years, but I did get caught up on the older ARCs and review commitments using those challenges.
Wishing you well as you nibble away at that pile, Crystal. 🙂
WOW that’s a lot of challenges for 2019. Good Luck!
Yeesh! And you reminded me that I actually missed putting one of my challenges up there. I’m doing Library Love again. 🙂 Sorry about that, Angela!
These are going to be a blast. I’m already off to a good start.
Oh, so that’s what COYER stands for! I’ve often wondered!
I’m doing a couple of the same challenges so I look forward to racing you over their finishing lines 🙂
Yes! Isn’t that a hoot? I saw it for two years on other blogs and didn’t get it, either. It’s a fun one.
Yay! Glad to have a challenge buddy, Stephanie.
Great reading challenges you have here Sophia!!! I am just thrilled to see so many great ones. I am glad to see you signed up for Oldie but a Goodie…should be fun to pick up those oldies. I am so excited for the Romanceopoly challenge though, that should pretty awesome to play and read.
Yes, I couldn’t resist and there were probably another dozen that all looked good and I wanted to do as well. Ugh, I’m addicted!
I am looking forward to hitting Mary Balogh’s backlist for my series challenge which will also count for Oldie But a Goodie. It will be fun to read more of her older stuff.
Oh my, absolutely! I am geeked about the game atmosphere to the Romance-opoly challenge. I’ve already been able to roll the dice twice to pick my next reads. I can’t wait to see what those mystery challenges are all about.
Soooo many good luck!
Seriously addicted here. And, it makes me sad because I would love to play BINGO reading with you and Linda’s CR and HR challenges.
Romance-opoly looks like a fun one. I’m going to try that too 🙂
Oh cool, Velvet! I thought it sounded like a blast, too. I had to dig out some dice and it will be fun to read based on a roll of the dice. 🙂
I am also doing Blog All About It! ✨
I did the Clean Out Your Ereader challenge a couple of years ago and I liked it.
Good luck.
Yay! It will be fun to read your posts for the Blog All About it. COYER is great for keeping the shelves caught up.
Woah, lots of challenges but that’s great many of them cross over! You can do it! I need to share the challenges I plan on doing this week, but I definitely want to try Blog All About It again.
-Lauren
Oh yeah, I wouldn’t be able to do this many if a book couldn’t count for at least two or three of them at a time. 🙂
Yay, glad you’re doing Blog All About It, Lauren. 🙂
Challenge crazy! Ha! Good luck with them all. It’ll be fun tackling them I’m betting 🙂
Here’s the link for Blog All About It 🙂

Thanks for the link. I was looking for it when I put the post together, but figured it was one of the ones that had trouble with the posts disappearing thing. 🙂
LOL yeah, it was smack in the middle of the massive deletion. smh
That is a lot of challenges. Good luck and I hope you find some great reads. Glad to have you back as part of the Audiobook Challenge.
Oh yeah! And, the sad part is that there were a half dozen more that I was actually trying to figure out how I could squeeze them in because they sounded fun. 🙂
Glad to be back on the Audiobook Challenge, Melanie. I’m getting a higher number each year.
You’re going to be busy with challenges this year! I’m trying to tackle series, clear out my e-readers, get some paperbacks out the house and reduce my TBR. Good luck!
