Dearest Ivie by J.R. Ward

Dearest Ivie knocked me flat on my back, left me beaten up and a ball of crying woman. It also lifted me up with the trueness that it evoked in my heart. This is in the world of Blackdagger Brotherhood, but it doesn’t play in with the current storyline…it plays outside of it as a story of normal people. It gave me what the recent books haven’t and I applaud the author for wreaking such havok on my emotions.

Dearest Ivie by J.R. Ward

Series: Black Dagger Brotherhood #15.5
Genres: Paranormal Romance
Published by Ballantine Books
Released on March 13, 2018
Pages: 157

The last place Ivie expects to be approached by a devastatingly handsome male is in a crowded, smoky cigar bar rarely frequented by vampires—yet here he stands. Silas is flirtatious, gallant, and, above all, mysterious. Ivie is anything but. A nurse at the healer’s clinic and the daughter of a biker, Ivie is accustomed to speaking her mind. So she does. Since aristocrats rarely pick up females of her class, Ivie asks Silas just what kind of game he thinks he’s playing.

Despite her guarded exterior, Ivie surrenders to the fierce desire she feels for Silas. And yet, just as their courtship is heating up, he reveals that it cannot last, for he is bound to return to the Old Country. Their bond only deepens as they make the most of their precious time together. But when she learns the truth, Ivie must find a saving grace—before all is lost. . . .

Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

It knocked me to tears! I wish she would write more like this instead of the tombs.

I agree with Sophia. This might be in the BDB world, but it was so different and brought all the feels. So good!

It knocked me hard and I loved seeing Ruin. I wish she would write more like this.

I haven’t read any of these. 🙁 I know a lot of people have issues with the later books in the series, so I’m glad to see this one is so good.

I loved the series early on, but about book 7 with Phury is when it started going downhill for me. I stopped reading the series after The King. The King had so many story lines that I just started skipping anything that didn’t have anything to do with Wrath and Beth. Now I am reading the off-shoot series and loving how much more simplistic it is with 2-3 storylines. Deariest Ivie is in the world and you don’t really need to know all the characters to enjoy it, but you do need to understand the world building. It is a… Read more »
