Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog. Feel free to leave your links in the comments if you are participating.
If you are interested in participating in TMST or receiving periodic emails that list the upcoming TMST topics and questions, please fill out this GOOGLE FORM. Participation is optional and never required.
What Are My Favorite Posts to Write?
I enjoy writing several kinds of posts and none is the standalone favorite.
- Reviews: other than those meh books that I have little to say about them
- Interviews: when I can freestyle the whole interview and the author plays along
- Discussions: I’m terrible about coming up with discussion points on a regular basis, but give me a question (ahem TMST) and I have a blast
- Book Tags: The themed ones are great fun
- Blog Event Posts: Great Pick Up Line, I Dare You, Holiday Extras
- The Monthly Reports: Sharing a little slice of life and bookish stuff
If you haven’t caught on yet, I pretty much like writing posts. But, here’s the thing, I don’t have the unheralded tedious work of formatting and I have to thank Shari and other blog hostesses for always doing that. There in is the reason why I like them all.

I like discussion posts but I never can think of something to post.
Yeah, I do all right if someone else provides the prompts, but I can’t usually think of them on my own. 🙂
I can’t even remember the last time I did an interview. They are fun!
It has been a while for me, too. I don’t think I did any in 2020. 🙁
LOL! Love this-how you enjoy writing posts. I love formatting – is that weird? I love making posts look just right. *sigh*
Ha, now that is funny.
I bow down to you. I struggle with reviews (crazy, right?) I wish I liked it more. My favorite posts are lists. I love making lists.
Lists! I could have added those to the answer, too. Yes, those are fun times, Sam.
“Discussions: I’m terrible about coming up with discussion points on a regular basis, but give me a question (ahem TMST) and I have a blast”
Haha, same! I did contribute a few of the new TMST questions, but I wouldn’t be able to come up with, say, one per week.
“If you haven’t caught on yet, I pretty much like writing posts.”
We have . It’s great that no part of blogging feels like a chore to you (except formatting, that is!).
Oops, it looks like your commenting system doesn’t support emojis. I used a laughing one and a winking one after “We have”.
I think if you do the keyboard style like the colon and parentheses type of ones then it will do it. 🙂
Haha, yes, I am rather spoiled since I do not do the formatting, but can do various post types. I just can’t seem to come up with a discussion topic that hasn’t already been rehashed to death already. Thank you for your contribution of some of the TMST posts. I love responding to the prompts.
Reviews are one of my favorite posts to write, I know they don’t always get the best interaction, but I love writing them. I also like writing discussion posts and interviews, but I rarely make the time for those anymore nowadays as they take quite some time to write. And I like my Sunday Posts as well, it’s nice to have a post where I can talk about what’s going on in my life. Just like you I would say I just enjoy writing posts in general. I don’t mind the formatting too much, it mostly takes time, but I… Read more »
I enjoy reviews, too. They help me gather my thoughts on what I just read and they help me focus on different aspects of the book than I do when not reading for a review. Yeah, you’ve been wonderfully busy with work this past year so it’s tough to fit in extras. I love reading what you share in your Sunday Posts. Being able to create your own format is definitely a plus to putting posts together. I always think Shari is so intuitive because she makes all our posts look so much better than I could imagine from the… Read more »
I could never think of much to post. Occasionally I’ll think that someone should post about a certain thing but never suggest it. Maybe I should.
Yes! I’d enjoy seeing you post about your ideas, Lorna.
I enjoy discussion posts and used to do them all the time. Now, TMST is about it because I need a prompt mos the time. I like tags too, those are fun!
It’s hard to come up with discussion ideas. I haven’t done a tag in a long time. I should do one soon.
