Welcome to The Book Report where we run down everything that happened in the month and update you on challenges, giveaways, reviews and more!

Shari’s Update

November came and went and I don’t believe I got to enjoy this month I love so much. My daughter started out with bronchitis as well as getting a lead role in a play at the last minute since the other person never showed up for practice. Throw in my other daughter also had a big role and I was in costuming Hell. To top it off, I got bronchitis a week before the play and coughed myself into a coma it felt like. The doctor put me on antibiotic which I know would do nothing since it was a virus. So I didn’t even bother taking it. Then Thanksgiving week came and I started to feel better, but I didn’t want to make anything for the meal because I didn’t want to give what I had to anyone. Yeah, my November for the most part sucked.

What did I do this month? Well, not good news for me.

  1. Read: 9
  2. DNF: 2
  3. Reviewed: 2 reviews for November
  4. Reading Statistics: 1 from NetGalley or Publisher, 5 Purchased, 3 Kindle Unlimited
  5. NetGalley percentage at 97%

Books of note:

  • I am in love with Jill Shalvis! So I binged on her books this month a little 🙂 Her Animal Magnetism series has me all kinds of hooked. Next year I am going to read her Lucky Harbor series for my Never Ending Series Challenge!
  • Cherise Sinclair came out with a new book in her Masters of the Shadowlands series! I gobbled that up in one night. My review is coming soon!

  1. [3 Nov] Maverick by Lisa Bingham ★★★★
  2. [3 Nov] Maverick by Lisa Bingham ★★★★
  3. [15 Nov] Tied to His Betrayal by Stacey Kennedy ★★★½

So the push is one to finish these up!

Sophia Rose’s Update

Hope all my American book pals had a lovely Thanksgiving.  I sure did.  ‘Over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house we’ went for good food and family visiting.  And yes, leftovers and some Black Friday shopping happened.  Next, untangling and checking the Christmas lights, ugh.

One sad thing.  My husband’s Grandma Emily died in her sleep over the last week.  She was a gracious lady who used to run an old-style tavern and then retired to Florida.  Her sense of humor was wry and her wisdom was straight up common sense that we all benefited from.  My guy is grieving quietly and we all will miss her.

NaNoWriMo was this month and I hit 50,000 words to meet the goal of the writing challenge.  Huzzah!  I still need to finish up the story ending.

I finished up another story and it’s off for a beta read before re-writes and editor red penning.

Alsoooo, this month, I participated in Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reader’s HoHoHo Readathon and the added challenge of Jen @ The Book Nympho’s Instagram challenge.  And yep, I hit my reading goal of six books for this one, too.  Look at the old girl now, fellas!!!!!

Reading total for the month:  38 books

Someone to Love by Mary Balogh, HR, new favorite HR for the year

Freckles by Amy Lane, M/M CR, cuteness factor

The Utterly Uninteresting, and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes, UF, lesser known series that needs to be read

A Good Time Coming by CS Harris, HF, big feels for the women of the past

A Heap of Texas Trouble by Carolyn Brown, CR, makes me laugh so hard

To Be or Not to Be…Read

I enjoyed the jaunt into the pro football world.  We’re a tad off schedule with the December TBR vote post, but stay tuned on that.

So, did you participate in a holiday readathon?  Read any good Holiday or Winter romances yet?  How’s the holiday decorating and plans coming along for you?  Do tell!

Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

Shari, sorry to hear that you were sick. Sophia, sorry to hear about grandma. Sophia, you had a ton of great reads, I don’t think I saw one below 3.5 stars. I hope you both have a great December.

Thanks Melanie. It really put a damper on things. I feel better now, but still have a lingering cough that is irritating me. Hope December brings you lots of books!

Sophia Rose

Appreciate the well wishes, Melanie!

Oh yes, it was a fantastic reading month. So many good ones- or maybe it was my mood. LOL

Lover Of Romance

Oh Shari I am so sorry to hear you got so sick!!! That is horrible. Hope you are feeling better now though.

Sophia, you got so much done this past month. I am so sorry to hear about your man’s grandma, that is so hard. And it sounds like she was just a wonderful lady. I will keep you both in my prayers. But it looks like you got some good progress done on reading and challenges.

Sophia Rose

Appreciate the thoughts and prayers, Renee.

Yes, lots of book progress happened. 🙂

@Shari sorry to hear your month sucked with being busy and you catching a virus. I also like Jill Shavlis her books, although I haven’t read her Animal magnetism series yet. I read her Cedar Ridge series and am now working through her Heartbreaker Bay series.

@sophia, glad to hear you had a fun thanksgiving. Sorry to hear about the death in your family. Yay for winning NaNoWriMo and getting so much reading done! I am reading my first Christmas read now :).

Sophia Rose

Thanks, Lola!

Had a good time finishing the writing challenge. Appreciate your kind thoughts for our loss.

Nice! Enjoy that Christmas story. 🙂
